Motions to the AGM:
- Alternative Defence Review
Mover: Linda Rogers, Seconder: Dylan Lewis-Rowlands
CND Cymru commends the work done to create and publish the ‘Alternative Defence Review’ this year by CND UK.
CND Cymru recognises this document as a vital part of campaigning for the wider peace movement.
CND Cymru commits to centering the Alternative Defence Review in any relevant campaigning work for the coming year, and will also commit to translating the ADR so that it is available in Cymraeg.
- Trade Union and Peace Affiliates
Mover: Dylan Lewis-Rowlands
Having noted discussions that have taken place at the Pwyllgor Gwaith, CND Cymru will develop a structure to enable affiliation by Trade Union branches, and by branches or groups of the peace movement which shares our aim.
The AGM permits the Pwyllgor Gwaith to narrowly amend the Constitution by adding a section on trade union and peace group affiliations, which shall include a limited voting right and delegates to the Pwyllgor Gwaith from affiliated entities, at the PG’s discretion.
- Modernising our AGM Communication (Emergency Motion)
CND Cymru will remove from its constitution the requirement to send postal communications to members regarding the AGM, instead recognising that the notice included in Heddwch is sufficient. Members may still receive a posted notice, but by request only. Members shall still be required to receive an email communication one month in advance of the AGM which shall include a notice of the meeting, and outline of business.
